Time to Meet & Confer! SDCBA’s Podcast for San Diego Lawyers

The first episode of SDCBA’s “Meet & Confer” podcast hosted by SDCBA Members, Renee Stackhouse and Jim Crosby. “Meet & Confer” is a podcast for and about our unique San Diego legal community and we are quite proud of this inaugural episode. Renee Stackhouse (née Galente) is a serious force in San Diego’s legal community, recognized equally for her tenacity, diligence, legal knowledge, and exceptional trial skills. As an advocate, Renee is lauded for her strategic and empathetic approach, and she is known as a leader in the profession and the community. Ms. Stackhouse’s substantial volunteer experience also has included leadership roles with the San Diego County Bar Association, serving as a Vice President on the Board of Directors, and inaugural Chair of the Association’s high-profile Law and Technology committee, which was responsible for not only guiding educational program related to technology, but also hiring a Member Technology Officer to assist lawyers in acquiring basic technology competency. She also serves the organization as regular contributor to San Diego Lawyer magazine, and as frequent speaker on social media, trial skills, and general civil litigation. In addition, Renee has served San Diego’s legal community as the President of San Diego La Raza Lawyers and on the board of Lawyers Club of San Diego. She earned her J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, graduating magna cum laude, and earned a B.S. in Management and Marketing from Park University, also graduating magna cum laude. She is a 2012 graduate of the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College. She earned a Women in Leadership Executive Certificate from Cornell University in 2019.

James D. Crosby is a highly experienced business litigator and trial attorney with offices in San Diego, California. Mr. Crosby represents entities and individuals, both plaintiffs and defendants, in complex and general business, commercial, contract, intellectual property, unfair competition, securities, real property, and business tort litigation in state and federal courts. He has successfully represented clients throughout California as well as in New York, Nevada, New Jersey, North Carolina and South Dakota. He has successfully tried numerous jury and non-jury cases, and represented clients in numerous JAMS, AAA and private arbitrations and mediations. Mr. Crosby is AV Preeminent Peer Review rated by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating for ethical standards and legal ability. Mr. Crosby has received the highest ranking of 10.0, Superb, from AVVO. Mr. Crosby was named a San Diego Daily Transcript 2015-2017 Top Attorney for Corporate Litigation, a San Diego Business Journal “Best of the Bar” for 2015-2017, a San Diego Super Lawyer 2014 through 2018 for Business Litigation, a Southern California Super Lawyer in 2014 for Business, Securities and Intellectual Property Litigation, and a San Diego Magazine Top Lawyer in 2014 through 2018 for Complex Business & Commercial Litigation.
A native Southern Californian, Mr. Crosby was born in Los Angeles, grew up in Santa Barbara and has lived in San Diego since 1974. He attended San Diego State University, receiving a B.S. degree in Marine Biology in 1978. Mr. Crosby attended the University of San Diego School of Law and received his law degree in 1983. Mr. Crosby and his wife, Jill, happily married for over 30 years, have three grown daughters. They reside in San Diego and enjoy sailing, water-skiing, the beach, music, concerts, dining out, cooking, art, books, and, most importantly, spending time when they can with their daughters.
