In podcast Episode #4 of the San Diego County Bar Association’s “Meet and Confer”, SDCBA member-hosts, James “Jim” Crosby and Renee Stackhouse welcomed leading San Diego attorneys Heather Rosing, Patricia Hollenbeck and Heather Riley for a discussion on Big Law – San Diego Style. What started out as a discussion of life in large San Diego’s law firms quickly morphed into a fascinating and free-wheeling discussion about female leadership in San Diego firms, client generation, partnership tracks, mentoring of young attorneys, our panelists rise to position of leadership, and so much more. It was a lively and enlightening discussion with some of San Diego’s best about practicing law in our fine city. It was really something special! It will of be keen interest to all San Diego attorneys, and it’s surely a must-listen for young lawyers working to establish and build successful San Diego legal careers.

Patricia P. Hollenbeck is a partner at Duane Morris LLP, an international firm with over 750 attorneys. Her practice focuses primarily on complex business litigation, franchise and dealership cases, theft of trade secrets, and injunctive relief claims. She has served as President of Lawyers Club of San Diego and currently serves as a Vice-President on the San Diego County Bar Association Board of Directors. IN addition, she is also a Director of the San Diego Inn of Court (trial training program) and a member of the Executive Committee for the Welsh Inn of Court. Ms. Hollenbeck is A-V rated by Martindale-Hubbell and is recognized by Super Lawyers annually, including being named a Top 50 Lawyer in San Diego twice, and to the list of Top 25 Women in San Diego four times.

Heather Riley is a land use and environmental attorney at Allan Matkins who works closely with developers and public agencies. She has won many awards and been placed on many top influencer lists, such as The Daily Transcript’s Top 50 Influential Leaders in San Diego from 2017 to 2019 and is Past President of the San Diego County Bar. She has been a part of the Allen Matkins Community Outreach Committee, as well as an advisory board member for Rachel’s Women’s Center in San Diego. She is currently a partner are Allen Matkins.

Heather L. Rosing, a Shareholder with Klinedinst PC, chairs the firm’s Professional Liability Team, litigating complex malpractice and fraud cases, and advising in the areas of ethics and risk management and serving as an expert witness. Ms. Rosing also defends judicial officers before the Commission on Judicial Performance. In 2018 and 2019, Ms. Rosing served as the inaugural President of the California Lawyers Association (CLA), the largest statewide voluntary Bar Association in the country. Previously, she served as Vice President of the State Bar of California’s Board of Trustees and President of the San Diego County Bar Association. The recipient of numerous accolades, Ms. Rosing was recognized in the Top 100 Attorneys in California in 2018 and 2019 by the Daily Journal.
